The next link in the Grand Parkway loop
The SH 99 Grand Parkway Segment B-1 project in Galveston and Brazoria counties consists of four new SH 99 tolled lanes extending ~14 miles. The project is being delivered in two phases. Phase I includes the SH 99 mainlanes from FM 646 to south of FM 2403, discontinuous frontage roads from I-45 to SH 35, grade-separated interchanges, two direct connectors at the SH 35 interchange and nearly 6 miles of non-tolled operational improvements to SH 35. Phase II, which will be delivered under a separate contract, includes four direct connectors at I-45.
The project will enhance safety and mobility; improve system connectivity; accommodate economic development and provide an alternative emergency evacuation route.
Construction will begin in 2027 and is anticipated to be complete in 2032.
