I-35 Capital Express Central Project
The project will construct an elevated Red Line crossing south of Airport Boulevard with pedestrian and bicycle access to improve connectivity. The Red Line crossing at 4th Street will also be reconstructed and a Project Connect crossing at Riverside Drive will be built.
Funding
- Estimated construction cost: $228 million funded by TxDOT and CAMPO
Schedule
- Anticipated construction start: early 2026
- Anticipated construction completion: 2029, weather permitting
