Construction continues for the White Oak elevation project; motorist should expect delays

HOUSTON – TxDOT crews will continue ongoing construction for the White Oak Bayou elevation project with several closures taking place beginning Monday April 21.
The closure details are as follows:
- I-10 Katy Freeway westbound mainlanes from Houston Ave to Heights Blvd. The two right lanes will be closed nightly beginning 9 p.m. Monday, April 28 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 21.
- I-10 Katy Freeway westbound frontage road from Studemont St to Heights Blvd: closed nightly beginning at 10 p.m., Monday, April 21 to 5 a.m. Friday, May 2.
- I-45 North Freeway southbound connector ramp to IH10 Katy Westbound will be closed nightly beginning 9 p.m., Monday, April 28 to 5 p.m. to Wednesday, May 21.
The $407 Million I-10/ White Oak project includes reconstructing the I-10 mainlanes, the I-10 HOV lanes and the Houston Avenue Bridge. It will also feature a two-mile shared-use path along the south side of White Oak Bayou, enhancing pedestrian and bicycle connectivity with improved trail access and upgraded pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure on the Houston Avenue Bridge.
As a reminder, TXDOT is asking drivers to follow any posted detour signs and have patience and caution to ensure safety as repairs progress.
