Construction on the Big 6 project began on Dec. 1, 2025.

Current activity

Northbound mainlanes between Rock Prairie Road and Southwest Parkway – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Northbound mainlane traffic will exit through the Rock Prairie Road exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just south of Harvey Road. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramps south of Barron Road, Harvey Mitchell Parkway/Emerald Parkway, and south of Southwest Parkway will be closed.

Southbound mainlanes from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue – Full Closure – 8 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All southbound mainlane traffic will exit through the Southwest Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes at the Texas Avenue traffic signal. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway, and Harvey Mitchell Parkway will be closed.
Southbound mainlane from Texas Avenue entrance ramp to Rock Prairie Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Right lane mainlane single-lane closure. Additionally, the southbound Barron Road exit ramp will be closed.
Westbound frontage road at Boonville Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Right lane frontage road closure at the SH 6 northbound frontage road. The westbound right turn lane will remain open during the closure. Additionally, the northbound frontage road left turn only will be closed.

Southbound mainlanes from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue – Full Closure – 8 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All southbound mainlane traffic will exit through the Southwest Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes at the Texas Avenue traffic signal. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway, and Harvey Mitchell Parkway will be closed.
Southbound mainlane from Texas Avenue entrance ramp to Rock Prairie Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Right lane mainlane single-lane closure. Additionally, the southbound Barron Road exit ramp will be closed.
Northbound Texas Avenue/Business 6 Exit Ramp – 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound Texas Avenue/Business 6 exit ramp will be temporarily closed overnight for paving operations. Traffic can access Texas Avenue through the traffic signal at Southwest Parkway.
Westbound frontage road at Briarcrest Drive – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Right lane frontage road closure at the SH 6 northbound frontage road. The westbound right turn lane will remain open during the closure. Additionally, the northbound frontage road left turn only will be closed.

Southbound mainlanes from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue – Full Closure – 8 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All southbound mainlane traffic will exit through the Southwest Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes at the Texas Avenue traffic signal. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway, and Harvey Mitchell Parkway will be closed.
Northbound Texas Avenue/Business 6 Exit Ramp – 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound Texas Avenue/Business 6 exit ramp will be temporarily closed overnight for paving operations. Traffic can access Texas Avenue through the traffic signal at Southwest Parkway.
Northbound frontage road between Rock Prairie Road and Harvey Mitchell Parkway – Single-lane Closure- 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound frontage road left lane will be closed for paving operations. Additionally, the northbound center left turn lane and the westbound left turn only lanes at the Rock Prairie Road intersection and the northbound entrance ramp just south of Harvey Mitchell Parkway/Emerald Parkway will be closed.
Westbound frontage road at University Drive – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Right lane single-lane closure at the SH 6 northbound frontage road. Additionally, the northbound frontage road left turn only lane will be closed.

Southbound mainlanes from Harvey Road to Texas Avenue – Full Closure – 8 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All southbound mainlane traffic will exit through the Southwest Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes at the Texas Avenue traffic signal. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps north of Harvey Road, Southwest Parkway, and Harvey Mitchell Parkway will be closed.

Southbound mainlane at Harvey Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Southbound mainlane right lane closure. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramp just north of Harvey Road and the southbound frontage road south to north turnaround at Harvey Road will be closed.
