Current activity

Lane closures

Sunday, May 10

  • Northbound Texas Avenue Ramp – Ramp Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • The northbound Texas Avenue exit ramp will be closed overnight for restriping. Northbound traffic can access Texas Avenue by turning left on Southwest Parkway.

Monday, May 11

  • Northbound mainlane between Southwest Parkway/Raintree Drive and Briarcrest Drive – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • All northbound traffic will exit using the Harvey Road exit ramp and may re-enter the northbound mainlanes just south of Briarcrest Drive. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramps south of Southwest Parkway/Raintree Drive, south of Harvey Road, and south of University Drive will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, May 12

  • Northbound mainlane between Southwest Parkway/Raintree Drive and Briarcrest Drive – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • All northbound traffic will exit using the Harvey Road exit ramp and may re-enter the northbound mainlanes just south of Briarcrest Drive. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramps south of Southwest Parkway/Raintree Drive, south of Harvey Road, and south of University Drive will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.
  • Northbound Texas Avenue Ramp – Ramp Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • The northbound Texas Avenue exit ramp will be closed for bridge column concrete placement. Northbound traffic can access Texas Avenue by turning left on Southwest Parkway.

Wednesday, May 13

  • Northbound mainlane between Southwest Parkway/Raintree Drive and Briarcrest Drive – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • All northbound traffic will exit using the Harvey Road exit ramp and may re-enter the northbound mainlanes just south of Briarcrest Drive. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramps south of Southwest Parkway/Raintree Drive, south of Harvey Road, and south of University Drive will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 14

  • Northbound frontage road between Barron Road and Rock Prairie Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • There will be alternating single-lane closures on the northbound frontage road for sawcutting. The northbound Rock Prairie exit ramp will be closed during both steps of the lane closure. Northbound traffic can access Rock Prairie Road through the Barron Road exit.
  • Southbound frontage road between Ponderosa Drive and Rock Prairie Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • The southbound frontage road left lane will be closed to set traffic barrier. Additionally, the southbound Rock Prairie Road exit ramp and the southbound to northbound turnaround lane at Rock Prairie Road will be closed.
  • Southbound mainlane at Harevey Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • The southbound mainlane right lane will be closed to relocate an information systems pole. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramp just north of Harvey Road and the southbound to northbound turnaround lane at Harvey Road will be closed.
  • Northbound frontage road between Southwest Parkway/Raintree Drive and Horse Haven Lane – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • The northbound frontage road right lane will be closed to set traffic barrier.

Friday, May 15 through Monday, May 18

  • Northbound SH 6 frontage road south of Rock Prairie Road – Full Closure (weather permitting) – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
    • The northbound SH 6 frontage road south of Rock Prairie Road will be closed, weather permitting, through the weekend. Access to local businesses will remain open throughout the closure. Inside lanes on the northbound frontage road will be closed, and two-way traffic will be maintained for local access only. The south-to-north U-turn will be closed, and drivers accessing northbound SH 6 from Barron Road will need to make a U-turn at William D. Fitch Parkway to enter the mainlanes. Motorists should expect changes to the exit ramp alignment due to phased construction. The Rock Prairie Road exit ramp will remain open but may close intermittently as crews shift the ramp for ongoing work

Looking ahead

Here's what can be expected in the next six months:

  • Two main lanes in each direction will be maintained throughout construction
  • Majority of the work will be on the main lanes
  • Construction of temporary pavement and retaining walls
