Construction on the Big 6 project began on Dec. 1, 2025.

Current activity

Southbound mainlanes between University Drive and Rock Prairie Road – Full-Closure - 8 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All mainlane traffic will exit at Harvey Road and will re-enter by taking a left from the frontage road at Business 6 (Texas Avenue). Additionally, entrance ramps between University Drive and Harvey Mitchell Parkway will be closed.
Eastbound single-lane closure at Harvey Road – 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Single-lane closure on overpass for abatement

Southbound mainlane between University Drive and Southwest Parkway – Single-Lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Right single-lane closure. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps north of Harvey Road and Southwest Parkway, as well as the southwest Parkway exit ramp will be closed.
Northbound entrance ramp south of Harvey Mitchell Parkway will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

- Right single-lane closure. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps north of Harvey Road and Southwest Parkway, as well as the southwest Parkway exit ramp will be closed.
