Construction on the Big 6 project began on Dec. 1, 2025.

Current activity

Southbound mainlanes between Briarcrest Drive and Harvey Road – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All traffic must exit through the University Drive exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just north of Harvey Road. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps just north of Briarcrest Drive and University Drive will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Northbound Texas Avenue - Ramp Closure - 7:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound Texas Avenue exit ramp will be closed to set traffic barrier. Traffic can access Texas Avenue by turning left on Southwest Parkway.
Southbound Harvey Mitchell Parkway - Ramp Closure - 7:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
- The southbound entrance ramp just north of Harvey Mitchell Parkway will be closed for regrading. Traffic may re-enter the southbound mainlanes through the ramp at the Texas Avenue/Deacon Drive traffic signal.

Southbound mainlanes between Martin Luther King/Old Reliance Road and Harvey Road – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All southbound traffic must exit through the William J. Bryan Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just north of Harvey Road. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps just north of Martin Luther King/Old Reliance Road, William J. Bryan Parkway, Briarcrest Drive, and University Drive will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Southbound mainlanes between Martin Luther King/Old Reliance Road and Harvey Road – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All southbound traffic must exit through the William J. Bryan Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just north of Harvey Road. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps just north of Martin Luther King/Old Reliance Road, William J. Bryan Parkway, Briarcrest Drive, and University Drive will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Northbound mainlanes between Briarcrest Drive and Martin Luther King/Old Reliance Road – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All northbound traffic must exit through the northbound William J. Bryan Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just south of Martin Luther King/Old Reliance Road. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramps south of Briarcrest Drive and William J. Bryan Parkway will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Northbound mainlanes between Briarcrest Drive and Martin Luther King/Old Reliance Road – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All northbound traffic must exit through the northbound William J. Bryan Parkway exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just south of Martin Luther King/Old Reliance Road. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramps south of Briarcrest Drive and William J. Bryan Parkway will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.
