Construction on the Big 6 project began on Dec. 1, 2025.

Current activity

Southbound mainlanes between Briarcrest Drive and Southwest Parkway – Full Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All traffic must exit through the southbound University Drive exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just north of Southwest Parkway. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps just north of Briarcrest Drive, University Drive, and Harvey Road will be closed.
Northbound mainlane between Southwest Parkway and University Drive – Single-lane & Full Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for material haul off and will be fully closed between University Drive and Briarcrest Drive to set traffic barrier. All traffic must exit through the northbound University Drive exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just south of Briarcrest Drive. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramp just south of University Drive will be closed.
Southbound and northbound frontage roads at Harvey Mitchell Parkway – Single-lane & Turnaround Closures – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The southbound and northbound frontage road left lanes and turnarounds will be closed at the Harvey Mitchell Parkway intersection to move and reset traffic barrier. Additionally, the eastbound Harvey Mitchell Parkway right lane and left turn only lanes and the westbount Harvey Mitchell Parkway right lae will be closed.

Southbound mainlane between Briarcrest Drive and Southwest Parkway – Full Closure Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All traffic must exit through the southbound University Drive exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just north of Southwest Parkway. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps just north of Briarcrest Drive, University Drive, and Harvey Road will be closed.
Northbound mainlane between Southwest Parkway and University Drive – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for material haul off.

Northbound mainlane between Southwest Parkway and University Drive – Single-lane & Full Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for material haul off and will be fully closed between University Drive and Briarcrest Drive for a traffic pattern change. All traffic must exit through the northbound University Drive exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just south of Briarcrest Drive. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramp just south of University Drive will be closed.
