Typical closure times are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for weekday closures and 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for weeknight closures. Lane closures are allowed all day Saturday, and Sunday (as needed).

Please note closures are subject to changes due to weather and schedule.

Project 1: I-20 Closures

I-20 Mainlanes

  • CHANGE IN SCHEDULE: Full closure of I-20 in the eastbound direction between the I-20/I-30 split and Markum Ranch Road from 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14th until 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 15th (DETOUR MAP).  The left lane of westbound I-20 will also be closed during this same time period between Markum Ranch Road and Bentley Drive.
  • CHANGE IN SCHEDULE: Full closure of I-20 in the westbound direction between Markum Ranch Road and the I-20/I-30 split from 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 15th until 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 16th.  Motorists will be directed to use I-30 and I-820 West Loop as the alternate route and access to RM 2871 and Markum Ranch Road will be maintained during these overnight closures (DETOUR MAP).
  • Daily: westbound various single lane closures of I-20 between I-20/I-30 split and Markum Ranch Road closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday, March 10th through Wednesday, March 12th for crews to remove concrete traffic barrier. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Daily: right and left shoulder closures throughout the project area from Markum Ranch Road to the I-20/I-30 split.
  • Daily: haul trucks entering the I-20 main lanes. WATCH FOR TRUCKS FLASHING SIGNS AND MOTORISTS SHOULD USE CAUTION.

Project 2: I-20/I-30 Closures

I-20 Mainlanes

  • Ongoing: eastbound right lane of I-20 closed approaching the I-20/I-30 split (one lane remains open for traffic to continue eastbound on I-20) for construction of new frontage road and entrance ramp. This closure is expected to last until Summer 2025. EXPECT DELAYS.

I-30 Mainlanes

  • No scheduled closures.

I-20 Frontage Roads

  • Ongoing: eastbound frontage road between FM 1187/FM 3325 entrance ramp to just west of Walsh Ranch Parkway exit ramp reduced to one travel lane (September 2024 through Summer 2025). EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Ongoing: westbound frontage road between Walsh Ranch Parkway entrance ramp to I-20 and I-20 exit ramp to FM 1187/FM 3325 reduced to one travel lane (December 2024 through Summer 2025). EXPECT DELAYS.

Project 3: I-30 Closures

I-30 Mainlanes

  • Daily: westbound various single lanes closed from 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. between Alemeda Street and Linkcrest Drive for pavement construction, striping, barrier placement and cable barrier/guardrail repair beginning on Monday, March 10th through Saturday, March 15th. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Daily: eastbound various single lanes closed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Linkcrest Drive and Alemeda Street for milling, drilling, earthwork, cable barrier/guardrail repair and asphalt paving beginning on Monday, March 10th through Saturday, March 15th. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Daily: the eastbound exit ramp to Chapel Creek Boulevard periodically closed between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for drainage work. Motorists can use the Spur 580 exit ramp to reroute back to Chapel Creek Boulevard. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Daily: the westbound entrance ramp from RM 2871/Longvue Avenue will be closed between 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 13th through Saturday, March 15th for barrier placement.  Motorists will continue on the frontage road and follow signs to enter westbound I-30 after Chapel Creek Boulevard. EXPECT DELAYS.

I-30 Frontage Roads

  • Ongoing: westbound frontage road between Alemeda Street and Old Weatherford Road reduced to one travel lane (January 2025 through Summer 2025).  Old Weatherford Road will be closed periodically from Monday, March 10th to Thursday, March 13th for barrier placement to start a new traffic pattern at the intersection with the westbound frontage road.  When Old Weatherford Road is closed, motorists will use follow detour signs to Academy Boulevard as the designated alternate route.  EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Ongoing: westbound frontage road right lane is closed between Mary’s Creek and Spur 580 exit. EXPECT DELAYS.

Spur 580/W. Camp Bowie Boulevard

  • Ongoing: westbound left lane is periodically closed between F Bar Trail and IH-30 for truck hauling and excavation/embankment operations.  EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Ongoing: eastbound left lane is periodically closed between Horseshoe Trail W. and F Bar Trail for truck hauling and excavation/embankment operations. EXPECT DELAYS.

I-820 West Loop Mainlanes

  • Ongoing: southbound right lane between Westpoint Boulevard and the eastbound and westbound exits to I-30 closed for roadway construction (January 2025 through Summer 2025). EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Daily: the ramp from I-820 northbound to I-30 westbound will be closed as needed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Thursday, March 13th through Saturday, March 15th for barrier placement. EXPECT DELAYS.

I-820 West Loop Frontage Roads

  • Ongoing: southbound frontage road right lane closed between Westpoint Drive and Alemeda Street for roadway construction (January 2025 through Summer 2025).
