Roadwork

Typical closure times are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for weekday closures and 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for weeknight closures. Lane closures are allowed all day Saturday, and Sunday (as needed).

Please note closures are subject to changes due to weather and schedule.

Closures

I-20 Closures

Mainlanes

  • ## Nightly, Aug 24-27, 7p-6a: The eastbound and westbound I-20 mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between FM 1187 and the I-30 interchange for general construction. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • ## Week of Aug 24: Crews will switch westbound I-20 exiting traffic to Ranch House Rd to the newley constructed exit ramp. Crews will close the existing exit ramp for removal. WATCH FOR NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN.
  • Ongoing: Eastbound and westbound I-20 reduced to two travel lanes between the I-20/I-30 split and FM 1187/FM 3325.
  • Effective, Mar 18: The westbound I-20 exit to FM1187/FM3325 (Exit 420 nearest FM1187/FM3325) was permanently closed for construction of a new westbound entrance ramp in this area. I-20 westbound traffic is directed to use the new permanent exit (Exit 420) located in I-30 interchange area (map).
  • Effective, Mar 19: The eastbound I-20 entrance from FM1187/FM3325 switched to the new permanent entrance ramp further east from the frontage road (map).

Frontage Roads

  • ## Nightly, Aug 17-20, 7p-6a: The eastbound I-20 frontage road will have single lane closures between FM 1187 and the eastbound I-20 entrance ramp for pavement striping operations.
  • ## Daily, Aug 24-28, 9a-3p: The eastbound I-20 frontage road will have a single lane closures between FM 1187 and the eastbound I-20 entrance ramp for general construction and vegetation operations.
  • ## Ongoing, Weekdays 6:30a-8:30a and 4:30p-6:30p: TxDOT is using off-duty officers to control the traffic signals at I-20 and FM 1187/FM 3325.
  • Anticipated, October 2026: The westbound I-20 frontage road approaching FM 1187/FM 3325 will be switched onto new pavement for the final intersection construction phase.
  • ## Effective, Aug 21: The eastbound I-20 frontage road from FM 1187 was returned to full service. The northbound free right turn was returned to service.
  • Effective, Mar 24: The westbound I-20 frontage road approach to FM 1187/FM 3325 is reduced to two lanes (shared left turn and through, and right turn only) for first phase of construction of new westbound frontage road pavement approaching FM 1187/FM 3325.

I-30 Closures

Mainlanes

  • Continuous, Aug 21, 7p-Aug 24, 6a: Westbound I-30 mainlanes will be closed between West Loop I-820 and I-20 for traffic switch onto new permanent pavement. All westbound entrance ramps and exit ramps will be closed in coordination with the traffic switch. The detour route is southbound I-820 to westbound I-20. EXPECT SIGNIFICANT DELAYS. SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES. (map)
  • Continuous, Aug 21, 7p-Aug 24, 6a: The westbound I-30 entrance from Las Vegas Trail will be closed in coordination with the westbound I-30 traffic switch. Follow marked detour. EXPECT SIGNIFICANT DELAYS. SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES.
  • ## Daily, Aug 24-29, 9a-3p: Eastbound and westbound I-30 may be reduced to one lane for general construction and bridge work. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • ## Nightly, Aug 24-27, 7p-6a: The eastbound and westbound I-30 mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between the I-30 interchange and Walsh Ranch Parkway for general construction.
  • ## Scheduled, Sep 3: The westbound I-30 exit to FM 1187/FM 3325 will be placed into service.
  • Ongoing: Eastbound I-30 right lane closure from Linkcrest Drive to Spur 580 exit for ramp construction. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Permanent, Effective Aug 2025: The westbound I-30 exit to Linkcrest Drive was closed. Motorists now use the Spur 580/Linkcrest Drive exit to the I-20 westbound frontage road to access Linkcrest Drive. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Permanent, Effective Sep 2025: The eastbound I-30 entrance from Linkcrest Drive was closed. Motorists should follow detour signs and enter eastbound I-30 from Spur 580/W. Camp Bowie Boulevard. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Effective, Aug 14: The eastbound I-30 exit to Walsh Ranch Parkway was returned to service.
  • Effective, Aug 14: The eastbound I-30 exit to SP 580 was closed for re-construction. Expected to return to service winter 2027. Follow detour on eastbound I-20 to northbound FM 2871. (map)
  • Effective, Aug 14: The eastbound I-30 exit to Alemeda Street was closed for re-construction. Expected to return to service spring 2027. Follow detour to exit Chapel Creek Boulevard and continue on eastbound frontage road. (map)
  • Effective, Aug 14: The eastbound I-30 entrance from SP 580 was closed for re-construction. Expected to return to spring 2027. Follow detour on eastbound SP 580 to northbound I-820. (map)
  • Effective, Mar 18: The westbound I-20 exit to FM1187/FM3325 (Exit 420 nearest FM1187/FM3325) was permanently closed for construction of a new westbound entrance ramp in this area. I-30 westbound traffic is directed to use Walsh Ranch Pkwy exit until the new permanent exit ramp being constructed immediately west of Walsh Ranch Pkwy is completed (map). The new exit is expected to be placed into service summer 2026.
  • Effective, Mar 19: The eastbound I-30 entrance from FM1187/FM3325 was removed service to construct a new permanent exit ramp in its current location. I-30 traffic will be detoured on the eastbound frontage road to enter I-30 from the Walsh Ranch Pkwy entrance. The permanent I-30 entrance ramp is exepected to be placed into service in 2027 (map).

  • Daily, Aug 17-22, 9a-3p: Westbound and eastbound I-30 frontage road under flagger control in the RM 2871 vicinity for concrete paving operations. EXPECT INTERMITTENT DELAYS.
  • ## Daily, Aug 14-29, 9a-3p: Westbound I-30 frontage road reduced to one lane between Alemeda St and Chapel Creek Blvd for general construction.
  • ## Daily, Aug 24-29, 9a-3p: Westbound and eastbound I-30 frontage road under flagger control in the RM 2871 vicinity for concrete paving operations. EXPECT INTERMITTENT DELAYS.
  • ## Overnight, Sep 1, 7p-6a: The westbound I-30 frontage road from Alemeda Street to RM 2871 will be closed for equipment relocation. Traffic will be detoured north onto Alemeda Street following Amber Ridge Drive, then south on Academy Boulevard to the westbound I-30 frontage road.
  • Effective, Jul 14: The two-way movement on the eastbound I-30 frontage road between Horseshoe Trail West and Mary’s Creek was permanently changed to eastbound movement only. The short connection between eastbound and westbound SP 580 movements will be removed from service. These operational changes are required to construct the new SP 580 interchange with I-30. (map)
  • Effective, Jul 14: The westbound I-30 frontage road movement crossing under I-30 at Mary’s Creek was removed from service. This operational change was required to construct the new SP 580 interchange with I-30.
  • Effective, Jun 12: The eastbound I-30 frontage road between Lost Creek Blvd and Verdi Vista Dr was switched onto new pavement to allow for construction of permanent, inside frontage road lane.

I-820 Closures

Mainlanes

  • Continuous, Aug 21, 7p-Aug 24, 6a: The I-820 direct connectors to westbound I-30 will be closed in coordination with the traffic switch. Traffic will follow the marked detours for southbound I-820 to westbound I-20. EXPECT SIGNIFICANT DELAYS. SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES.
  • ## Overnight, Sep 5, 7p-6a: The southbound I-820 ramp to westbound I-30 will be closed for overhead sign work. Traffic will be detoured to continue south on I-820 exiting SP 580, crossing under I-820, and returning on northbound I-820 exiting to westbound I-30. EXPECT DELAYS.

Frontage Roads

  • No scheduled closures.

Local Streets

RR 2871/Longvue Avenue

  • Ongoing, Effective Feb 5, 2026: The RM 2871/Longvue Avenue bridge over I-30 is closed for reconstruction Sep 2026. Motorists will be detoured to either Chapel Creek Boulevard or Alemeda Street to get across I-30 during this closure.

FM 1187/FM 3325

  • No scheduled closures.

Old Weatherford Road

Alemeda Street

Chapel Creek Boulevard

  • No scheduled closures.

Spur 580/W. Camp Bowie Boulevard

  • Effective, Jul 14: Eastbound and westbound SP 580 is reduced to one travel lane in each direction between I-30 and west of Chapel Creek Boulevard for construction of new intersection. EXPECT DELAYS.

Linkcrest Drive

Lost Creek Boulevard
