Roadwork

Typical closure times are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for weekday closures and 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for weeknight closures. Lane closures are allowed all day Saturday, and Sunday (as needed).

Please note closures are subject to changes due to weather and schedule.

Project 1: I-20 Closures

I-20 Mainlanes

  • Upcoming: Full closure of I-20 in the eastbound direction between the I-20/I-30 split and Markum Ranch Road from 7 p.m. on Friday, February 14th until 6 a.m. on Saturday, February 15th. Full closure of I-20 in the westbound direction between Markum Ranch Road and the I-20/I-30 split from 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th until 6 a.m. on Sunday, February 16th. Motorists will be directed to use I-30 and I-820 West Loop as the alternate route and access to RM 2871 and Markum Ranch Road will be maintained during these overnight closures. See detour map.
  • Daily: right and left shoulder closures throughout the project area from Markum Ranch Road to the I-20/I-30 split.
  • Daily: haul trucks entering the I-20 main lanes. WATCH FOR TRUCKS FLASHING SIGNS AND USE CAUTION.

Project 2: I-20/I-30 Closures

I-20 Mainlanes

  • Westbound right lane of I-20 approaching the I-20/I-30 split will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, January 20th. EXPECT DELAYS.

I-30 Mainlanes

  • Westbound right lane of I-30 from Walsh Ranch Parkway to I-20 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, January 20th. EXPECT DELAYS.

I-20 Frontage Roads

  • Eastbound frontage road between FM 1187/FM 3325 entrance ramp to just west of Walsh Ranch Parkway exit ramp reduced to one travel lane (September 2024 through Summer 2025). EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Westbound frontage road between Walsh Ranch Parkway entrance ramp to I-20 and I-20 exit ramp to FM 1187/FM 3325 reduced to one travel lane (December 2024 through Summer 2025). EXPECT DELAYS.

Project 3: I-30 Closures

I-30 Mainlanes

  • Eastbound right lane between Chapel Creek Boulevard and Alemeda Street exit ramp closed from 10 am to 6 pm daily from Tuesday, January 21st through Friday, January 24th, 2025. The eastbound entrance ramp from Longvue/RM 2871 will also be closed for barrier placement during this same time period.
  • Westbound Chapel Creek Boulevard entrance ramp closed from 9 am to 3 pm on Monday, January 20th, 2025. Motorists will be directed to detour southbound on Chapel Creek Boulevard to Spur 580/Camp Bowie Boulevard in order to access the westbound Interstate 30 main lanes.

I-30 Frontage Roads

  • Westbound frontage road between Chapel Creek Boulevard and Mary's Creek left lane closed from 10 am to 6 pm daily on Tuesday, January 21st and Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025.
  • *** Traffic pattern change to a 4-way STOP condition at the intersection of Alemeda Street and the westbound I-30 frontage road started on Monday, January 6th, 2025 ***

I-820 West Loop Mainlanes

  • Various lanes of southbound 820 closed between Expedition Drive and Alemeda Street from 10 am to 6 pm daily on Thursday, January 23rd and Friday, January 24th, 2025.
