Project 1 is being constructed by SEMA Construction, Inc. Projects 2 and 3 are being built by Zachary Construction, Inc.

All three projects are designed to enhance safety and the movement of traffic between both the Interstate 20 and Interstate 30 corridors between FM 1187/FM 3325 and West Loop 820. The improvements will increase connectivity between western cities (Aledo, Willow Park, Hudson Oaks, Weatherford) and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This includes:

  • Project 1: I-20 between Markum Ranch Road and the I-20/I-30 split
    • New interchanges on I-20 with Bentley Drive and Walsh Ranch Parkway, including entrance and exit ramps in both directions
    • Auxiliary lanes for traffic merging onto I-20 between Markum Ranch Road and Bentley Drive
  • Project 2: I-20 between FM 1187/FM 3325 and I-20/ I-30 split and I-30 between I-20/I-30 split and Linkcrest Drive
    • Bottleneck relief between FM 1187 and I-20/I-30 interchange
    • Access ramp improvements
    • Full reconstruction of frontage roads from FM 1187/FM 3325 to west of Walsh Ranch Parkway
    • Lowering of I-20/I-30 mainlanes to achieve increased bridge clearance (minimum of 18.5 feet of vertical clearance over mainlanes of designated Freight Networks) at both FM 1187/FM 3325 and Walsh Ranch Parkway
  • Project 3: I-30 between Linkcrest Drive/RM 2871 and I-820 West Loop
    • Bottleneck relief between Spur 580 and I-820 through widening of I-30 from two to three general-purpose lanes in each direction.
    • Improvements to the Spur 580/I-30 interchange.
    • Construction of continuous two-lane one-way frontage roads throughout the project limits.

The projects implement improvements on approximately 5.6 miles of I-20 between FM 1187/FM 3325 and Markum Ranch Road and 5.7 miles of I-30 between I-20 and I-820 West Loop.

The three projects total construction cost is approximately $420 million.

Construction began in August of 2023.

Substantial completion of Project 1 is anticipated in 2026, Project 2 in 2028, and Project 3 in 2030.
