Construction on the Big 6 project began on Dec. 1, 2025.

Current activity

Northbound mainlanes between University Drive and Briarcrest Drive – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All traffic must exit through the Briarcrest Drive exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just south of Briarcrest Drive. Additionally, the northbound entrance ramp just south of University Drive will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.
South to north turnaround and north to south turn around at the SH 6 and Harvey Mitchell Parkway intersection - 7:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
- The south to north turn around and north to south turnaround will be closed at the SH 6 and Harvey Mitchell Parkway intersection to set traffic barrier. Additionally, the Harvey Mitchell Parkway eastbound left turn only lane will be closed.
Southbound Harvey Mitchell Parkway - Ramp Closure - 7:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
- The southbound entrance ramp just north of Harvey Mitchell Parkway will be closed for regrading. Traffic may re-enter the southbound mainlanes through the ramp at the Texas Avenue/Deacon Drive traffic signal.

Southbound mainlanes between Briarcrest Drive and Harvey Road – Full Closure – 8:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- All traffic must exit through the University Drive exit ramp and may re-enter the mainlanes just north of Harvey Road. Additionally, the southbound entrance ramps just north of Briarcrest Drive and University Drive will be closed. Please note that ramp closures will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Northbound Texas Avenue - Ramp Closure - 7:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound Texas Avenue exit ramp will be closed to set traffic barrier. Traffic can access Texas Avenue by turning left on Southwest Parkway.
