Construction on the Big 6 project began on Dec. 1, 2025.

Current activity

Northbound frontage road north of University Drive – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound frontage road left lane will be closed for dirt work.

Northbound mainlanes between William D. Fitch Parkway and Barron Road – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound mainlane left lane will be closed for concrete placement. Additionally, the northbound Barron Road exit ramp will be closed. Traffic may access Barron Road by using the turnaround at Rock Prairie Road.
Northbound mainlane and frontage road between Harvey Road and University Drive – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound mainlane right lane will be closed to set traffic barrier. The frontage road left lane will also be closed. Additionally, the University Drive exitr amp and the entrance ramp just south of University Drive will be closed. Traffic may access University Drive by using the Briarcrest Drive exit and turning around.
Southbound frontage road at the University Drive intersection – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The southbound frontage road left lane will be closed for earthwork. The westbound University Drive inside left turn only lane will be closed. Additionally, the southbound Harvey Road exit ramp will be closed. Southbound traffic can access Harvey Road by using the University Drive exit ramp.
Northbound frontage road north of University Drive – Single-lane Closure – 7:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- The northbound frontage road left lane will be closed for dirt work.
