| Purpose | TxDOT is proposing to acquire a parcel of land to use as a placement area for materials dredged from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in Brazoria County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting an online virtual public hearing on the proposed project. |
| Description | This notice is provided as required by the Texas Coastal Waterways Act, Transportation Code, Section 51.006. The proposed parcel of land to be considered for acquisition are Placement Area 86E. TxDOT is acquiring the property to fulfill its responsibilities as the non-federal sponsor of the GIWW. These responsibilities include providing right of way and placement areas for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operation and maintenance of the GIWW. Right of way and displacement requirements are not applicable for this acquisition. |
