14.9 Quadrant Roadway Intersections

A quadrant roadway (QR) intersection displaces left-turns to a quarter-arc “quadrant roadway” in one of the intersection’s quadrants as shown in . The primary benefit of a QR intersection is a reduction in traffic signal phases and conflict points, resulting in improved intersection operations.
