FM 2100 Huffman-Cleveland Road to FM 1960

The TxDOT Houston District is proposing improvements to FM 2100 from Huffman-Cleveland Road (North) to FM 1960 in the unincorporated community of Huffman, located in northeastern Harris County, Texas. The purpose of the project would accommodate anticipated traffic demand and growth in the region, while enhancing safety by providing a divided highway with raised medians.

Current conditions

Currently, the existing FM 2100 consists of two 12-foot-wide travel lanes (one in each direction) and six-foot-wide outside shoulders. The existing right of way (ROW) is typically 150 feet in width, and there are no bicycle lanes or sidewalks.

Proposed improvements

Proposed improvements include the following:

  • Reconstructing and widening FM 2100 from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided roadway, with a raised median
  • Designing the roadway to include one 12-foot travel lane and one 15-foot outer shared-use lane in each direction, as well as adding sidewalks in each direction

Approximately 34 acres of new ROW would be required including land for detention ponds; however, no displacements are anticipated.
