Open House: 5:30 p.m
Formal Presentation: 6:30 p.m.

Purpose:

The Texas Department of Transportation, as the lead agency, is proposing to widen the existing Crabb River Road (FM 2759/FM 762) from south of Sansbury Boulevard to south of LCISD complex in Fort Bend County, Texas.

Description:

The proposed improvements to Crabb River Road (FM 2759/FM 762) extend from approximately 0.25 mile south of Sansbury Boulevard to approximately 500 feet south of the LCISD Complex located on FM 762, a total distance of approximately 2.9 miles.

The purpose of the proposed project is to improve mobility, alleviate traffic congestion and improve safety. The proposed improvements would be constructed in two phases:

  • Phase I - Widen the existing Crabb River Road (FM 762/FM 2759) to four lanes with a divided raised median
  • Phase II - Construct a grade separation (overpass) over the BNSF Railroad and Thompsons Road (FM 762/FM 2759)

The existing right of way (ROW) varies, but is typically 120 feet wide on FM 2759 and 80 feet wide on FM 762. On the FM 2759 portion, the existing ROW would be sufficient for the proposed Phase I improvements.

On the FM 762 portion, approximately 110 feet of additional ROW would be required. ROW acquisition would usually be on east side. The proposed project would require additional ROW and would potentially result in displacements. The proposed project would displace one residential and two non-residential structures.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
