Open House - US 181 at SH 35 Interchange

Purpose:
The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and answer questions on a proposed project to construct improvements to the US 181 interchange at SH 35, in the town of Gregory and in the vicinity of the City of Portland.
Description:
This is the second phase in a project to construct improvements to US 181 and the US 181/SH 35 interchange. The first phase of the project included the construction of an overpass at the Union Pacific Railroad just north of Gregory and improvements to the intersections at FM 2986 and Spur 202.
Proposed improvements include:
- Construction of US 181 mainlanes through Gregory to connect to existing freeway sections
- Construction of auxiliary lanes including on and off ramps and turn lanes
- Grade separations at Childress Street, Sunset Road and at SH 35
- Ramp reversal south of the US 181/SH 35 interchange in an existing freeway section
- Widening of roadway shoulders in existing freeway sections

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
