Public Hearing - Cape Road Bridge - San Marcos River

Where:	San Marcos Activity Center 501 East Hopkins Road San Marcos, TX	When:	Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 Open House: 6 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Presentation: 6:30 p.m.
Purpose:	A public hearing to discuss plans to replace the Cape Road bridge at the San Marcos River in Hays County.
Description:	The purpose of the proposed project is to provide a safe and improved modern crossing on Cape Road at the San Marcos River. Proposed improvements include the following: Construction a new bridge over the San Marcos River. The proposed structure would have an overall width of approximately 40 feet 2 inches and a clear roadway width of approximately 32 feet 2 inches and would consist of two 11 foot travel lanes with 5 foot shoulders and a 5 foot sidewalk. The length of the new structure would be approximately 50 feet. The width of the new approaches would vary from approximately 23 to 34 feet 5 inches and would accommodate two travel lanes that vary from 11 to 12 feet 6 inches and shoulders that vary from 0 to 5 feet 2 inches.
