Project overview
The TxDOT Odessa District, in partnership with the Permian Basin MPO (PBMPO), initiated a corridor study in 2016 to develop a program of improvements for the I-20 Odessa-Midland corridor. The corridor study focuses on the stretch of I-20 in the Odessa-Midland area from west of FM 1936 to east of FM 1208, a distance of approximately 40 miles. Improvements will include adding main lanes, constructing new interchanges, reconfiguring ramps, and converting frontage roads from two-way operation to one-way operation, as well as capacity, operational and drainage improvements for most of the corridor. Currently, the study team is working on a schematic design for the corridor.
