LP 1604 from I-35 to FM 78
The Texas Department of Transportation is proposing improvements to Loop 1604 from Interstate 35 in Live Oak to Farm to Market Road 78 in Universal City, Texas.
Proposed improvements
The proposed improvements include:
- Conversion of Loop 1604 to a four-lane expressway with continuous frontage roads between I-35 and FM 1976
- Reconfiguration of ramps with an additional lane between the ramps
- Additionally, the bridges at Loop 1604 and Pat Booker Road would be replaced and the bridges at Kitty Hawk would be widened
- A noise barrier is proposed on State ROW between the westbound frontage road and the adjacent residences between Palisades Drive and Cordoba Drive
Additionally, the bridge at Loop 1604 and Pat Booker Road will be considered for reconstruction and the bridge at Kitty Hawk to be widened.
Public involvement
The purpose of the open house is to share project information and updates, present proposed schematics of the proposed project, and collect input from the community. TxDOT is committed to working closely with the community on this project. All input will be considered as TxDOT moves forward in developing a plan that will enhance the safety of this corridor while preparing for future growth.
