TxDOT is proposing to reconstruct and widen FM 1187 from an existing two-lane roadway with a center turn-lane to a four-lane divided roadway with a curbed grassy center median.
Divided in two segments, the purpose of this project is to enhance safety, increase capacity, accommodate increasing traffic demand, and improve connectivity in the area. The proposed project would add shared-use paths in each direction for bicycle and pedestrian accommodation. Additional right of way will be required to accommodate this project.
