Notice Affording Opportunity for Public Hearing - US 82
Purpose: | TxDOT and the City of Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas, are proposing to make improvements to US 82 from Weber Drive to FM 371 and to Weber Drive in Gainesville, Texas. The total distance of the proposed project is approximately 6.004 miles. In accordance with the Texas Administrative Code Title 43, Part 1, Chapter 2, Subchapter 3, Rule §2.107, an open house was held on Feb. 5, 2015, to provide information regarding the proposed project and to gather input from the public. The existing facility consists of two travel lanes in each direction with 8-foot outside shoulders. Throughout the project limits the median varies from no median, to curb and gutter, or a 30-foot-wide grassy median. The existing right-of-way (ROW) width varies from 80 feet to greater than 300 feet. No new right of way or easements are proposed with this project. No residential or commercial displacements are proposed with this project. Maps showing the design as well as the environmental documentation and tentative construction schedule relative to the project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Gainesville Area Office located at 2615 West Highway 82, Gainesville, TX 76240. Any interested citizen may request a public hearing for this project. Requests for public hearing must be submitted in writing on or before December 25, 2015, to the TxDOT District Office, Michael Beaver, P.E., Director of Transportation Planning and Development, 1601 Southwest Parkway, Wichita Falls, TX 76302-4906.
