Open House - FM 890 - Wichita County

Purpose:

TxDOT invites you to attend an open house to learn about planned improvements to FM 890 from I-44 to SH 240 in Wichita County. The ultimate facility would upgrade the roadway from two to four lanes and replace the bridge over Spur 325. Initial improvements will include new shoulders and sidewalks. The proposed project would meet current safety and design standards and improve mobility for the traveling public. Project team members will be on hand to answer questions about the proposed changes. No formal presentation will be given, and you can come and go at your convenience.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.

 

Description:

The 1.2-mile project options could include:

• Two additional lanes in each direction with concrete curb and gutter
• New bridge over Spur 325 with four lanes of traffic, left turn lanes with sidewalks on each side
• Purchase of new right of way
