Open House - SH 22

| Purpose: | TxDOT invites the public to participate in a pre-construction open house to learn about improvements scheduled to begin early next year. The meeting will be a come-and-go open house format with no formal presentation. Representatives from TxDOT and the project team will be available to answer questions. | ||
| Description: | The project will widen SH 22 from two lanes to four lanes with a left-turn lane from SH 81 to .9 miles to the east. The effort will improve safety and mobility through the area. The project ties into a section of SH 22 that has already been widened. The roadway will be rebuilt one half at a time. Traffic will be shifted over to narrow lanes, and motorists should exercise caution during weekday construction activities. The project is expected to last 13 months. Persons interested in attending the open house who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to call the public information office at (254) 867-2705. TxDOT will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate special needs as requested. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT. |
