TxDOT Belton Area Office
410 West Loop 121
Belton, Texas 76513 (Map)
When:
Thursday, July 20, 2017
5 - 7 p.m.
Purpose:
The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on proposed improvements to FM 817 (Waco Road/Charter Oak Drive) in the cities of Belton and Temple, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so citizens may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.
Description:
This project would rehabilitate the existing truss bridge on FM 817 over the Leon River. Rehabilitation of the bridge will consist of cleaning and painting the steel members and maintenance to the concrete substructure. The bridge is anticipated to remain open during the majority of rehabilitation; however, traffic will be reduced to one lane carrying two-way traffic. Traffic signals placed at either end of the bridge will control traffic flow. Temporary closures of the bridge will be required at various times during construction. Completion of the project is estimated to take two to three months. No additional right of way is required.
Special accommodations: TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (254) 867-2744 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
