Purpose:
TxDOT is proposing improvements to SL 121 from FM 439 to I-35 in Bell County, Texas. The purpose of the public meeting is to discuss and receive public comments on the proposed project. Representatives from TxDOT and project consultants will be available to answer questions about the proposed project improvements. The public meeting will be held in an open house format from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and will include a brief project overview presentation beginning at 6 p.m.
Description:
From FM 439 to Sparta Road, the proposed four-lane facility would consist of one 12-foot wide inside travel lane and one 14-foot wide outside shared use lane in each direction with 1.5-foot wide outside curb offsets, 6-foot wide sidewalks, and a 14-foot wide central two-way left-turn lane. From Sparta Road to I-35, the proposed four-lane facility would consist of one 12-foot wide inside travel lane and one 14-foot wide outside shared use lane in each direction with 1.5-foot inside and outside curb offsets, and a 17-foot wide raised median with left-turn bays at select locations. Right and left-turn lanes would be provided at various cross streets. Pedestrians would be accommodated with a 6-foot wide sidewalk along the outside of the southbound/eastbound lanes and bicyclists would be accommodated with a 10-foot wide shared used path along the outside of the northbound/westbound lanes. Both the sidewalk and shared used path would extend for the length of the proposed project. Additional right-of-way is anticipated to be required along SL 121.

Requests should be made at least two days prior to the meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.Downloads:
