Purpose:
The purpose of the hearing is to gather public input on proposed lane use restrictions on I-35 in McLennan County. All interested citizens are invited to attend the hearing and to provide input. Those who would like to make official comments may register starting at 5 p.m.
Description:
TxDOT is proposing to initiate a lane-use restriction applicable to trucks, as defined in Transportation Code, §541.201, with three or more axles, and to truck tractors, also as defined in Transportation Code, §541.201, regardless of whether the truck tractor is pulling another vehicle or trailer. The proposed restriction would prohibit those vehicles from using the left or inside lane on I-35 in both directions from approximately .75 mile north of FM 2063 to the northern city limits of Bruceville-Eddy.
The proposed restrictions would apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and would allow the operation of those vehicles in a prohibited traffic lane for the purposes of passing another vehicle or entering or exiting the highway.
