Open House - FM 16

Purpose:	TxDOT invites you to an open house to review and comment on proposed improvements to FM 16 in Lindale. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information. There will be no formal presentation; citizens are encouraged to come and go at their convenience. Comments can be submitted by email. Written comments may be submitted at the meeting or mailed to: Texas Department of Transportation Advanced Project Development Office 2709 W. Front St. Tyler, TX 75702 Persons requiring special communication or accommodation needs should call (903) 510-9100 at least two working days prior to the meeting. TxDOT will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate special needs.

Description:	Improvements to FM 16 from four miles west of FM 849 to US 69 in Lindale are intended to ease congestion and improve safety. Proposed work includes widening from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway with a flush median in the rural area. Several lane configurations will be presented for the urban area near US 69 in downtown Lindale. This project will tie into the anticipated future Toll 49 around Lindale. The project will require new right of way from adjacent property owners. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
