Purpose: The purpose of this meeting is to share information about the current US 175 corridor improvements with citizens, local officials and emergency responders. TxDOT staff and our project partners will be on hand to share the latest construction schedules, ultimate highway configuration and to respond to project related questions.
   
Description: TxDOT is currently reconstructing the US 175 corridor from Baxter to Frankston, converting the existing two lanes to a four-lane divided highway. Once complete, the corridor will be a four-lane divided highway all the way from Frankston to the Kaufman County Line.

Estimated construction cost is $105 million. Expected completion is Winter 2019. The US 175 corridor improvements are being completed in three project phases:


Phase I

  • Limits: 0.1 mile southeast of FM 804 near Baxter, southeast to 1.1 miles east of Loop 60E at Larue.
  • Contractors: A.L. Helmcamp Construction and Big Creek Construction
  • Estimated Cost:  $39.2 million project.
  • Work began April 2015

Phase II

  • Limits: 1.1 miles east of Loop 60E at Larue, southeast to .85 mile east of FM 315 in Poynor.
  • Contractor: Sundt Construction
  • Estimated Cost: $37.8 million
  • Work began October 2015

Phase III

  • Limits: .85 miles east of FM 315 in Poynor, southeast to .5 mile northwest of SH 155 at Frankston.
  • Contractor: A.L. Helmcamp Construction
  • Estimated Cost: $27.6 million project
  • Project will begin in late Spring 2016
