| Purpose: | Bexar County and TxDOT, cordially invites you to attend a public hearing regarding the Environmental Assessment (EA) for proposed construction of a new 7.6-mile, two-lane rural arterial road within a typical 150-foot right of way (ROW) connecting the existing sections of SH 211 from FM 471 (Culebra Road) to FM 1957 (Potranco Road). The project occurs within the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of San Antonio along the Bexar/Medina County line. No residential or commercial displacements are proposed. Written comments and the draft EA may be received at the hearing, online, by email or at the locations listed below, up to 10 calendar days after the hearing. Copies of the draft schematic and EA, along with tentative schedules for ROW acquisition and construction are available for viewing at the San Antonio District office of TxDOT and the Pape-Dawson Engineers office. | Description: | The project proposes construction of a new 7.6-mile, two-lane arterial road within a typical 150-foot ROW connecting the existing sections of SH 211 from FM 471 (Culebra Road) to FM 1957 (Potranco Road). Although additional ROW is required, no residential or non residential structures would be displaced. The project will encroach on the 100-year floodplain. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for ROW acquisition may be obtained from the San Antonio District office. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT. |
