Public Hearing - Loop 1604 from Potranco to Culebra

Where: Dolph Briscoe Middle School Cafeteria
4265 Lone Star Parkway
San Antonio, TX 78253
When: Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014
Open House: 5 p.m.
Public Hearing: 6 p.m.

Purpose: TxDOT invites citizens to view exhibits of the proposed improvements to Loop 1604 between Potranco Road (FM 1957) and Culebra Road (FM 471). Members of the project development team will be available to answer questions during the open house. During the public hearing, a presentation will be given on the proposed improvements, and citizens will be able to make comments for the public hearing transcript.

The public hearing will be conducted in English and a Spanish translator will be present. Persons interested in attending the hearing who have special communication or accommodation needs, or need an interpreter, are encouraged to contact Albert Castro at (210) 393-7760 or by email at least two days prior to the public hearing. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.

Description: The proposed improvements would expand Loop 1604 to a four-lane expressway (non-toll lanes) to alleviate congestion and high traffic volumes along the existing loop. Improvements would include the construction of the southbound Loop 1604 main lanes and frontage road, entrance and exit ramps, and three grade separations at Potranco Road, West Military Drive and Wiseman Boulevard. By converting the roadway to an expressway and building grade separations at major intersections within the project limits, the proposed project would increase mobility and limit the interaction of high-volume traffic traveling along Loop 1604 and turning traffic from Potranco Road, W. Military Drive and Wiseman Boulevard. Environmental studies, maps, and engineering drawings for the proposed project can be obtained from the district office.
