Purpose: | The City of San Antonio (CoSA), in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a public meeting regarding the proposed pedestrian improvements near Poe Middle School, Douglass Elementary School, Herff Elementary School, Connell Middle School, and Charles C. Bell Elementary School in Bexar County, Texas. | ||
Description: | The purpose of the public meeting is to present the proposed project to the public and receive comments. The scope of the proposed project is to construct sidewalks, ADA ramps and curb to fill in the gaps in the existing system. The project limits are on various roadways, for a total project distance of approximately 3.3 miles, as described below and in the Notice of Public Meeting:
The purpose of the proposed project is to improve safety for school-age children and pedestrians in the project area. The proposed improvements will not require any new right of way. There will be no displacements as a result of this project. All interested citizens are invited to attend this public meeting. Written comments from the public regarding this project are requested and may be presented for a period of 10 calendar days following the meeting. Written comments may be submitted either in person or by mail to the City of San Antonio, Project Manager, P.O. Box 839966, San Antonio, TX 78283-3966. Written comments must be received by Friday, April 22, 2016 to be included in the Public Meeting Summary. The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
