Purpose: The purpose of the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) workshops is to share information about the TAP program, including timelines for the call for projects and guidelines for submission of the nomination form.
Description: TAP provides funding for a variety of projects, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure for non-driver access to public transportation, projects that enhance mobility and Safe Routes to School infrastructure projects. TAP focuses on non-traditional transportation projects.

An estimated $52 million is anticipated to be available to fund authorized TAP projects (for federal fiscal 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016) in this call for projects. Depending on the actual amount available and the TAP project nominations received by TxDOT, all or some portion of the estimated amount may be awarded as a result of this call.

All interested people are invited to attend these workshops to learn about TxDOT’s TAP program and the project nomination and submittal process. No advance registration is necessary to attend.

Persons interested in attending a scheduled TAP meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs, or need an interpreter, are encouraged to contact the TxDOT District hosting the event. Requests should be made at least two days prior to the meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
