Notice Affording Opportunity for Public Hearing - FM 803 Realignment

Purpose:	Anyone may request a public hearing be held covering the social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed realignment of FM 803. The purpose of the proposed project is to provide direct connectivity between I-69E (U.S. 77/83) and FM 803 and to improve traffic operations and mobility at the FM 803 and SH 550 intersection. The realignment of FM 803 would reduce through traffic along the existing FM 803 and provide relief to the FM 803/SH 550 intersection thereby improving traffic mobility and safety at the intersection. In the event that a public hearing is requested, one would be scheduled and notices providing information about the hearing date and location would be publicized.

Description:	The proposed realignment includes: Connecting FM 803 to I-69E at Rancho Viejo Boulevard with a four-lane roadway Expanding the northern portion of the existing FM 803 road to four lanes Adding center turn lanes Improving drainage with curbs and gutters tied to the storm drain system and re-grading roadside ditches Adding shared use lanes Constructing shoulders The project would require approximately 44.39 acres of additional right of way for the roadway and drainage; however, no houses or businesses would be displaced. Information about TxDOT’s Uniform Relocation Assistance Program concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right of way acquisition can be obtained from the TxDOT San Benito Area Office.
