Purpose:
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), in conjunction with the Town of Combes, is proposing improvements to SH 107, from Business 77 to I-69 E (US 77) in Cameron County, Texas. The total distance of the project length is approximately 0.56 mile.
Description:
The proposed project would include:
- Widening of SH 107 from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane curb-and-gutter roadway
- Addition of sidewalks
- Construction of southbound and northbound turnarounds at the I-69E (US 77) intersection
- Drainage improvements
The purpose of the proposed project would be to add capacity and improve mobility and safety for traffic operations along the corridor and at the intersection of SH 107 and I-69E (US77).
The majority of the proposed project will occur within the existing right of way (ROW). Less than one acre of new ROW would be acquired at the southeast corner of the intersection of Business 77 and SH 107. No floodplain, wetland and/or sole-source aquifer recharge zone will be impacted.
