Purpose:

The purpose of the public hearing is to gather public input on the proposed improvements to FM 907 (Alamo Road) from Nolana Loop to I-2.  Displays and staff will be available at 5:00 p.m. for review and questions, and the formal hearing will begin at 6 p.m. with a public commenting period after. Comments must be received on or before May 31, 2017, to be part of the official hearing record.

Description:

Proposed improvements include:
  • The widening and reconstruction of FM 907 from Nolana Loop to I-2
  • A four lane roadway with two outside 14-foot-wide travel lanes
  • Two 11-foot- wide inside travel lanes and a 12-foot-wide continuous left turn lane
  • Drainage would be provided by an underground storm drain system

The existing ROW varies between 80 and 100 feet in width. The proposed project would require approximately 0.32 acres of additional ROW in corner clips.  Although additional ROW is required, no residential or commercial structures would be displaced. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for ROW acquisition may be obtained from the district office at the address listed below. A total of 3.6 acres of floodplains would be impacted by the proposed project.

The total distance of the project is approximately 2.5 miles. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve mobility, provide pedestrian accommodations, and complete the roadway network.

Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
