Presentation: 6 p.m.
Purpose: The purpose of the meeting is to solicit public comment on the proposed US 83 Relief Route project at La Joya/Peñitas in Hidalgo County, Texas.

Description: Proposed improvements include the following:
  • Phase I
    • Construction of a four-lane divided rural highway separated by a depressed median
    • 12 foot wide travel lanes
    • 4 foot wide inside shoulder
    • 10 foot wide outside shoulder
  • Future Phases
    • Construction of main lanes and overpasses within the depressed median
    • 12 foot wide travel lanes
    • 4 foot wide inside shoulder
    • 10 foot wide outside shoulder

Approximately 340 acres of additional right of way would be required and would include potential relocations of residential and commercial properties.
