|Purpose||The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing to reconstruct and widen Interstate (I)-20 from east of John Ben Shepperd Parkway, in Ector County, to east of State Highway (SH) 349, in Midland County. This notice is affording an opportunity to comment as part of the environmental review process for this project.|
Improvements would include adding main lanes, constructing new interchanges, reconfiguring existing interchanges and ramps, intersection improvements, and converting frontage roads from two-way operation to one-way operation. The proposed project would require approximately 16.8 acres of new right of way (ROW). The total length of the proposed project is approximately 16.4 miles.
Although additional ROW would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for ROW acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT Odessa District office by calling 432-498-4645.
