Public Meeting - McHard Road

Where: Dawson High School Cafeteria
2050 Cullen Blvd.
Pearland, TX 77581
When: March 24, 2015
6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Purpose: The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on the proposed extension of McHard Road from Cullen Boulevard to Mykawa in the City of Pearland, Brazoria County.

Description: The City of Pearland, in cooperation with TxDOT, proposes new construction consisting of approximately 3.5 miles of a four-lane divided concrete roadway with curb and gutter, landscaped medians, irrigation, a sidewalk and bike trail, as well as pedestrian ramps. The project includes:
  • The addition of drainage and detention ponds
  • Five signalized intersections (Max, Roy, O’Day, Garden and Hatfield Roads)
  • Widening of intersecting roads to include left-turn lanes within a 120-foot right of way
The proposed project will require additional right of way and will result in displacements; however, the exact amount is still being determined. Property owners within the proposed alignments are encouraged to participate in this public meeting, receive more information and provide feedback.

No formal presentation will be given, and attendees are invited to come and go at their convenience. Attendees will be able to view proposed project details and maps, visit one-on-one with team members, ask questions and leave comments.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
