Description:
The proposed project is needed to address current and projected traffic demands, safety and existing facility design and operational deficiencies. The proposed project would complete the interchange and provide access for all traffic movements between I-20 and Center Point Road and provide continuous one-way frontage roads extending eastbound and westbound between E. Bankhead Drive and Lakeshore Drive. An additional Center Point Road Bridge would be provided and the existing two-way frontage road segments would be reconstructed to one-way.
The project would reconstruct the eastbound exit and westbound entrance with E. Bankhead Drive and the eastbound exit to Lakeshore Drive near the same locations the ramps currently exist. The westbound exit and eastbound entrance with E. Bankhead Drive would be relocated to the east near Center Point Road and four new entrance and exit ramps with auxiliary lanes would be constructed for access. The existing westbound exit and entrance ramps between Center Point Road and Lakeshore Drive will remain. The project is located in Parker County on the border of the City of Weatherford and City of Hudson Oaks. The total length of the project along I-20 is 3.4 miles.
The existing right of way (ROW) within the project limits is approximately 153 acres. The additional ROW needed would include approximately 13.8 acres. The proposed project would displace seven structures including one owner-occupied, five tenant-occupied, and one unoccupied structure.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S. Code Section 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
