1950 S I-35 E. Service Road
Waxahachie, TX 75165 (Map)

When:

Thursday, July 13, 2017
Open House 6 - 8 p.m.

Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to solicit public comments on the proposed roadway improvements to I-35E from US 77 South of Waxahachie to US 77 North of Waxahachie in Ellis County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so citizens may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.

Description:

The proposed project includes the addition of one-way frontage roads in both northbound and southbound directions. The proposed project would also include the reconstruction and relocation of exit and entrance ramps. The frontage roads would consist of a 14-foot wide outside lane and a 12-foot wide inside lane. A six-foot wide sidewalk would also be included in both northbound and southbound directions along the back of curb. Three interchanges are planned to be “flipped” with Sterrett Road, Butcher Road and Lofland Drive accommodating a 6-lane configuration, as per the 2007 Waxahachie Thoroughfare Plan. Approximately 24.8 acres of additional ROW and 0.36 acres of drainage easement would be needed to accommodate the proposed roadway improvements. No residential or commercial property displacements or relocations would be required.

Special accommodations: TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (214) 320-4480 at least two working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
