Purpose:

TxDOT will conduct a public meeting for proposed improvements to SH 205 from US 80 to SH 78 in Kaufman, Rockwall and Collin Counties, Texas, a distance of approximately 24 miles. The Segment 6 preferred alternative of the SH 205 project in Rockwall County, which is the John King Boulevard Alternative that was displayed at the July 7, 2016, public meeting, will be presented. The meeting will be an open house format so citizens may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.

Description:

The SH 205 Alternatives Analysis was divided into seven segments and was presented at the July 7, 2016, public meeting held at Herman E. Utley Middle School. The project would include TxDOT maintaining the existing John King Boulevard, Segment 6, four-lane roadway and the future inside widening for an ultimate six-lane facility when warranted by traffic demand. The proposed improvements to Segments 1 through 4 and 7 of the project include widening the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway with accommodations being made for an ultimate six-lane facility. Additional right of way is anticipated along existing SH 205 and John King Boulevard.

Written comments must be postmarked on or before Friday, April 14, 2017, to be included in the Public Meeting Summary.

The public meeting will be conducted in English. Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs, or need an interpreter, are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Office at (214) 320-4480 at least two working days prior to the public meeting.
