Notice of Availability - FM 3549 Finding of No Significant Impact
| Purpose: | This notice is to advise the public that TxDOT has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed improvements to Farm-to-Market Road (FM) 3549 in the cities of Rockwall and Fate, in Rockwall County, Texas. |
| Description: | FM 3549 would be widened from an existing two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane urban section. The proposed typical section provides one 12-foot travel lane, one 14-foot multipurpose lane for shared bicycle use and a 2-foot offset with a concrete curb in each direction. The typical section also provides a 5-foot sidewalk for pedestrian use with a 12.5-foot buffer along both the northbound and southbound lanes of FM 3549. A raised median is provided to control the ingress and egress at Airport Road, Riding Club Road and Rolling Meadows Drive. Additionally, left-turn lanes are provided along northbound FM 3549 at Airport Road, Rolling Meadows Drive, and SH 66 and along southbound FM 3549 at SH 66 and Riding Club Road. Left- and right-turn lanes onto FM 3549 are also provided along eastbound and westbound SH 66 to accommodate projected traffic volumes. |
