Purpose:
The purpose of the open house is to gather public input on proposed improvements to U.S. 82 in Knox County. The meeting will be an open house format so citizens may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.
Description:
Project limits extend from FM 267 east to the Baylor County line. Proposed improvements involve converting existing two-lane roadway into Super 2—where a periodic passing lane is added to allow passing of slower vehicles.
All interested persons are invited to attend this public meeting. The public meeting will be conducted in English. Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs, or need an interpreter, are encouraged to call (940) 937-7288 no later than two days prior to the public meeting. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.
Verbal and written comments from the public regarding the proposed bridge replacement project are encouraged. Comments may be presented either at the meeting or in writing after the meeting. Written statements may be mailed and postmarked no later than 15 calendar days following the meeting (Friday, April 21, 2017) to the address below.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
