Attendees will be able to come and go as they please to review project displays and ask questions of TxDOT staff in an open house format. The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed project and receive public comment. On the day of the public meeting, the information presented will be made available online on this webpage.
|Purpose||The TxDOT Bryan District is proposing intersection improvements at FM 50 South, FM 50 North and OSR along SH 21 in Burleson and Brazos Counties. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting a public meeting on the proposed project.|
The proposed improvements would construct Restricted Crossing U-Turn (R-CUT) intersections to enhance safety and improve the operation of the intersections. These intersections simplify decision-making for drivers and minimize the potential for higher severity crash types, such as T-bone accidents. R-CUT intersections allow left turns into intersecting side roads and eliminate left turns for vehicles exiting the side roads. Vehicles wanting to make a left from a side road would take a right and then utilize a U-turn offset from the intersection to change direction. TxDOT does not anticipate any right-of-way acquisition for this project.
Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection by appointment Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at TxDOT Bryan District Office, 2591 North Earl Rudder Freeway, Bryan, Texas 77803, 979-778-9231. This information will also be available at the meeting.
|Accessibility||The public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the public meeting, please contact Bob Colwell, Bryan District Public Information Officer at 979-778-9764 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Friday, Nov. 3, 2023.
