Purpose: TxDOT will be holding a public hearing regarding plans to improve the intersection of FM 60 (Raymond Stotzer Parkway) at FM 2818 (Harvey Mitchell Parkway) and to widen FM 2818 from FM 60 to George Bush Drive (FM 2347).

Description: Project information will be available for viewing by the public beginning at 5 p.m. for one hour prior to the formal hearing proceedings. The public hearing will include two proposed projects:

FM 60 (Raymond Stotzer Parkway) Overpass Improvement

  • Convert existing unsignalized at-grade intersections with the FM 2818 ramps into a diverging diamond interchange (DDI) with curbed islands and traffic signals
  • Widen existing bridge over FM 2818 to six travel lanes (three west and three east) with protected pedestrian pathways and bicycle lanes
  • Provide protected, free right- and left-hand turns, improving capacity through the intersections, reducing delays
  • Reduce vehicle, vehicle/bicycle and vehicle/pedestrian conflict points, enhancing safety

FM 2818 (Harvey Mitchell Parkway) Widening

  • Widen to six travel lanes (three north and three south) with a center concrete traffic barrier instead of a flush median
  • Extend drainage structures
  • Improve capacity of intersection with George Bush Drive (FM 2347)
  • Increase clearance underneath Raymond Stotzer Parkway (FM 60)
  • No frontage roads will be constructed

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
