Public Hearing - Replacement of Post Road Bridge

Kyle First Baptist Church
400 West Center St.
Kyle, TX 78640

Monday, June 6, 2016
Open House: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The purpose of the hearing is to present the proposed project to the public and receive comments for proposed replacement of the Post Road Bridge (County Road 140) over the Blanco River in Hays County, Texas.

Improvements would include:

  • Replacement of the concrete slab bridge

The current bridge was washed out by flooding in the fall of 2015, with a pre-stressed concrete slab structure on a concrete substructure with drilled shafts. A temporary structure is currently in place. A detour from Post Road to I-35 will be necessary during construction of the new bridge. No additional right of way is required for the proposed project and there are no displacements.

All interested citizens are invited to attend this meeting. Written comments from the public regarding this project are requested and may be presented for a period of 10 calendar days following the meeting. Written comments may be submitted either in person or by mail to:

TxDOT’s South Travis Area Office
