Open House - SH 149/SH 315 Carthage Interchange Construction

4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
   
Purpose: TxDOT invites interested citizens to come learn about the upcoming reconstruction of SH 149 from US 79 to 0.8 mile south of SH 315. This project will improve safety and lessen congestion along this heavily trafficked corridor. This is an open house format with no formal presentation. Citizens may come and go at their convenience. Project team members will be available to answer questions.
   
Description: This effort will complete all but approximately 1.5 miles of the loop around Carthage, and includes:

  • Widening from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided highway with two 12-foot lanes in each direction including  10-foot outside shoulders and 4-foot inside shoulders
  • Reconstruction of the intersection of SH 315 at SH 149, including  an overpass at this location
  • Construction of a turnaround on the south side of the US 79 Overpass
  • Approximately 1.9 miles in length
  • Construction will last approximately three years
