Public Meeting - State Loop 335

Purpose: The purpose of the public meeting is to present preliminary concepts of potential changes to State Loop (SL) 335 from I-27 to FM 2590.
   
Description: TxDOT, in conjunction with the Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization, is proposing improvements, which include:
  • Conversion of approximately 2.5 miles of SL 335 from a non-freeway to a freeway with frontage roads, ramps, grade separations over intersecting cross streets and four main lanes, potentially accommodating future expansion up to six main lanes
  • Reconstruction of the existing interchange of I-27 and SL 335 to include two lanes in each direction with additional lanes at intersections for right turns, left turns and U-turns; replacement of the I-27 bridge; construction of a new SL 335 bridge
  • Widening of FM 2590 between FM 2186 and Soncy Road to four lanes with additional turn lane improvements
All interested residents are invited to attend this public meeting to express their views and discuss the project with TxDOT representatives. Comments are welcome any time on or before Dec. 1, 2014.
