Public Meeting - Bell Street Project

Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to present proposed traffic control phasing for proposed improvements to I-40 at Bell Street.

Description:

The Texas Department of Transportation in conjunction with the City of Amarillo and the Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization will conduct an open house to present the proposed Traffic Control Phasing (TCP) for the proposed improvements to I-40 at Bell Street in Potter County. Information and display exhibits related to the TCP will be provided. The proposed project involving the replacement two of the three Bell Street bridges over I-40 and to improve the intersection and frontage road approaches was presented during the public meeting held on April 7, 2016. The improvements address traffic operations, mobility and safety.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
