Stockpile Locations

Normally, the contractor proposes the stockpile locations to the project engineer for approval. TxDOT Standard Specifications for surface treatments (
Item 316
) gives broad restrictions on stockpile locations as follows:
  • 30 feet from roadway
  • Should not obstruct traffic or sight distance
  • Should not interfere with the access from abutting property
  • Should not interfere with roadway drainage.
