SH 16 from Robindale East Road to Old San Antonio Road - Notice and Opportunity to Comment

Purpose:

TxDOT is proposing to improve SH 16 from Robindale East Road to Old San Antonio Road in Bandera County, a distance of 1.5 miles. The project would be constructed in existing right of way and no new ROW would be acquired for the project.

Description:

TxDOT proposes to expand this section of SH 16 from one lane each way to two 12-ft wide lanes each way with five-ft wide shoulders and sidewalks on each side. The opposing lanes would typically be divided by a center turn lane. A raised median would be located on SH 16 between the eastern unsignalized intersection of Old San Antonio Road and Enchanted River Drive. The bridge over Bandera Creek would be replaced with a wider and higher structure to reduce the frequency of overtopping. TxDOT hosted a public meeting on this project in November 2017. TxDOT made minor changes to the project after this meeting; however, TxDOT was not able to advance the project until funding was recently identified. You may submit written comments on this project. Written comments may be submitted by mail to Sam Blanco, Raba Kistner, Inc.12821 W. Golden Lane, San Antonio, TX 78249 or by email to address on notice below. All comments must be received on or before Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
