SH 99 Grand Parkway Project: Segments H, I-1 and I-2 - Concession Procurement

On June 26, 2014, the Texas Transportation Commission elected to develop the SH 99 Grand Parkway Project: Segments H, I-1 and I-2 though the use of a design-build contract and executed minute order 113979 authorizing TxDOT to proceed accordingly.

This project consists of a 52.3 mile section of SH 99 from US 59 to SH 146.

Current Conditions

Currently, most of the western two-thirds of the 180-mile loop around the Houston metropolitan area is complete or under development.  Segment 1-2A, between I-10 East and FM 1405, is already in place.

Proposed Improvements

This toll-lane project begins at US 59 (Segments H and I-1) and connects to the existing I-2A portion, continuing on to SH 146 (Segment I-2B) to ultimately complete the 180-mile Grand Parkway loop to a four-lane facility.
