TxDOT is proposing to reconstruct and widen FM 1187 from an existing two-lane roadway with a center turn-lane to a four-lane divided roadway with a curbed grassy center median.

Divided in two segments, the purpose of this project is to enhance safety, increase capacity, accommodate increasing traffic demand, and improve connectivity in the area. The proposed project would add shared-use paths in each direction for bicycle and pedestrian accommodation. Additional right of way will be required to accommodate this project.

Chisholm Trail Parkway to Business 1187 (McCart Avenue)

The proposed project to construct the three-mile segment from Chisholm Trail Parkway to Business 1187 would allow for future additional widening and construction of grade-separated interchanges at FM 1902 and Hulen Street.

This project is not currently funded for construction. The estimated construction cost is $37 million.

Public Meeting: Sept. 5, 2019

Bella Flora Drive to Chisholm Trail Parkway

The proposed project to construct the nine-mile segment from Bella Flora Drive at the Parker County Line to Chisholm Trail Parkway would include:

  • Intersection improvements (with possible realignment of the intersections at US 377 involving the analysis of three alternatives)
  • Improvements to the at-grade Fort Worth and Western Railroad crossing (including a possible overpass alternative)
  • Drainage improvements
  • Additional right of way will be required to accommodate this project

This project is not currently funded for construction. The estimated construction cost is $105 million.

Public Meeting: March 15, 2022
