When completed, the SH 121/Chisholm Trail Parkway project will offer a continuous route from I-30 in downtown Fort Worth to US 67 in Cleburne. The North Texas Tollway Authority expects to open the 28-mile toll road to traffic in 2014.

Chisholm Trail Parkway is a partnership between TxDOT, the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA), the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Tarrant and Johnson counties, and the cities of Fort Worth, Cleburne, Joshua and Burleson.

As NTTA constructs the toll road, TxDOT will oversee construction for mobility improvements at I-20 in Fort Worth and US 67 in Cleburne. These two projects were selected by NCTCOG with $147 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds. Work began in March 2010.
